Monday
Monday, July 13, 2009 at 6:29PM The porch should be finished by the end of the week if not sooner. I had a pretty productive weekend, mainly making bowls and mugs and such. A few pots came out of the kiln. Most of them had clothes line deco but I did have a few experiments like the bowl above. I'm working out glazing ideas as I go. This isn't my ideal solution, nor even my ideal palette. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to approach this new imagery as far as glazing goes.
Hopefully I'll finish up two gallery orders this week and fire again over the weekend.

I love following your work Ron. Especially the new tests. I have been potting for 3-4 years and am still searching for the look/form I like...at least for now. :)
I like the little bits of color and the color edge- adds another element to the pot.
Les lapins!
As a matter of conicidence, we put up a clothesline this weekend, woohoo!
Ron, the rabbits on the pot in the first picture remind me of the "real" rabbits in The Velveteen Rabbit.
I think the bunny bowl is my favorite thing I have ever seen of your work!!! LOVE IT! Looks like going to Penland was totally worth it for you, very inspired work :)
Thanks everyone!
This series really looks good. I also love the bunny bowl. & I agree with Tracey- Penland was truly inspirational for you. I like the little hints of color too. Congrats on some great work!
That reminds me, I'm supposed to put the clothesline back up.
Oh, and the clothesline plate looks awesome.
I really like your old drawings, but these are awesome too! The animals still have great character even with the more realistic proportions. So excited to see what's next!
very nice rabbits bowl, it seems you are excited about the changes
