Busted

IMG_1548IMG_1549

I went up to the Soda Chicks and Chet Pottery Sale this past Saturday.  Sarah told me before I left not to bring any pots home.

Oops!  I tried.  I really did.  I ended up buying a bowl and mug made by Bob Briscoe, who was one of the visiting artists for the Sale.

I didn't bring the pots in the house when I got home.  I thought I'd gradually work them into the rotation.  But Sarah saw the bowl in the studio yesterday and I was busted!  (It's not like she wouldn't have noticed a new bowl in house once I brought it in anyhow).

Yes, I have a problem.  I am a pottery addict. Oh well, it could be worse right?

There should be a club or group for pottery addicts. Pottery Addicts Annonymous, or PAA. I'd join. :)

I'm sorry I wasn't able to get out and meet Mr. Briscoe. I'm still recovering from my dental surgery last week.
As far as addictions go I don't think you should consider yourself addicted unless you were going through some sort of physical manifestations or reactions. Were you drooling or shaking all over?

Oh. you were?

PAA sounds like a great idea except that everyone would bring their handmade mugs for drinking coffee at the meetings, then people would start swapping mugs, then selling pots in the parking lot out of their trunks after the meetings... it would all just be pointless in the end.

Totally understandable amigo, as I would go for that nice dark pitcher behind you head there...

there's no point even trying to hide stuff here, the first theing he asks when I get in is "so, what is it this time?" I tried to warn him when I met him but I don't think he quite got just how all encompasing an addiction like this can be.

Nerd. Don't tell Sarah I was an enabler.

the first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem... well I guess we are all on track for recovery!

STeve tells me the same thing, ROn: NO MORE POTS! LOL, and I try to gradually bring them inside...maybe replace a mug or bowl with the new one I bought!
