Good Things
Sunday, March 21, 2010 at 6:15PM I was happy to get these jars out from under plastic today and put the animals on them. The critters will get colored glazes after the bisque. These are for my show at the NC Crafts Gallery in April.
Thank goodness some things are getting smaller. I like these cute little 7.5 fl oz Cokes.
I had some small plates at the Sale and they were a big hit. These are 8" in diameter. I had one person buy a small plate and bowl as a place setting for his daughter. That was a great idea and one I hadn't thought of. (Note to my marketing department)
I'll be photographing pots for Etsy this week as well as getting my pots packed up for the NC Crafts Gallery show. I also hope to head up to Bakersville in the next week and deliver pots to Crimson Laurel Gallery.

I love these jars! And it sounds like your sale was a success, I bet you guys had a good time. I tried this jar technique after I watched your videos, still have lots of practicing to do. The animal toppers are really fun and suit the folk feeling in your drawings really well.
Great addition to your jars.
I am happy you both had a good sale!
Your work is taking a new direction- some of it reminds me of the great Pennsylvania Dutch work that my MIL loved so much.
Your work has a time element to it.
I always think 1930-1950's can't tell you why but it has a feel, for me, of a slower time.
Thanks Vicki, I'm loving your porcelain. It's fun keeping up with a few of us from the Penland class.
Meredith. I am certainly looking back at those Pennsylvania Dutch pots for ideas on composition and design elements. They were so well done, not too fancy but beautiful in their own ways. Some had great humor to them too. They are teaching me a lot. Thanks for the feedback. I'm really looking forward to the blogger show!!
i like the clothesline going from plate to plate. not up on cokes, they're making smaller ones now??
Yep, little baby Coca Cola!
